Welcome to Tyndale
Tyndale College is inspired by the words of Nelson Mandela “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” We believe that all our children have the potential to achieve greatness, to lead positive change in the increasingly challenging and competitive world in which we live. Education is about life chances.
Our college is named after an English scholar and gifted linguist, well known, in particular, for his work on translation of the bible into English and for coining some famous phrases such as “seek and you shall find.”
In Tyndale we seek for our children what we all want for all our children- maximum academic achievement and the best educational experience possible. Our team of tutors and support staff takes seriously our collective responsibility to enable all students, irrespective of background or ability, to seek out individual talents and gifts, their un limitless potential to achieve greatness in our world. We maintain high expectations of ourselves, and for our students; do our best to ensure a caring, purposeful, well-disciplined and enjoyable learning environment.
Our college mantra is “Attitude and Aspiration = Achievement.” We encourage our students to believe that nothing is impossible, that there is no such thing as failure, only learning. Every step towards achievement starts with the decision to try….and keep trying. ”Tyndale students do their best and “never, ever, ever give up!” Learners are regularly rewarded for effort, participation and endeavour, as well as for attainment. The team affords first-class personalised learning support for all, monitors student progress closely, quickly identifying and removing any potential barriers to learning, providing additional support when necessary. We do encourage students to be leaders of their own learning journey, to take the initiative, to have the confidence to take risks and manage any disappointment positively. We seek to instill the importance of excellent attendance, punctuality and the highest standards of behaviour, through the promotion of a self-regulating community. We value and promote student participation in the wealth of extra curricular and competitive activity offered within the Academy. Through such engagement and healthy competition students gain additional, valuable life skills.
When they continue their journey beyond school, our aim is that Tyndale students will be skilled and successful life long learners, responsible citizens and contributors – with the self-belief, desire and ambition to make their hopes and dreams come true.
As we are in the business of improving our students’ life chances, we do not settle for second best, or even the best. We aspire to greatness.
